South Korea is looking for a good shot in the 2010 Winter Olympics. As of now they ave a total of 4 medals. They got 3 gold medals and 1 silver. Sang-Hwa Lee was one of the three gold medalist who brought pride for their country. She won in the speed skating women’s 500m with a time of 38.249.
According to the interview made by BBC, Lee was a bit pressured and worried. She really wanted to win for her friends got the medal already.
Jenny Wolf of Germany won the silver medal with a time of 38.307 while Beixing Wang of China won the bronze medal with a time of L38.487. Lee defeated Wolf with just 0.058 seconds and Wang with 0.238 seconds.
Margot Boer of Netherlands was on the fourth place (38.511), Sayuri Yoshii of Japan was fifth (38.566), Heather Richardson of USA was sixth (38.698), Shuang Zhang of China was seventh (38.530), Jin Peiyu of China was eighth (38.686), Hyon-Suk KO of North Korea was ninth (38.893), and Christine Nesbitt of Canada was on the tenth place (38.881).
Other USA participants in this field, Elli Ochowicz, Jennifer Rodriguez, and Lauren Cholewinski, were not able to make it to the top 10.
South Korea also dominated the men’s speed skating 500m. Tae-Bum Mo won the gold medal with a time of 34.923.
