VIDEO: The 2010 remake of “We Are The World” was recorded after Grammy Awards night on February 1, 2010 in Hollywood, California. A remake of the song consist of over 76 stars in the music industry. The producer and conductor of the 1985 “We Are The World” charity song, Quincy Jones, and Lionel Ritchie, who co-wrote the song, planned and organized the remake on January 28, 2010, which is dedicated to the Haiti earthquake victims.
There are some changes in the song. There will be a rap segment written by Will.i.am pertaining to the January 12 earthquake in Haiti.
The official world premiere of “We Are The World” (remake) or the full video of the song will air on NBC network on February 12, during their coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics opening ceremony .
