WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY GAME 17: USA VS SWEDEN – SEMIFINAL ROUND RESULTS

US Olympic Women’s Hockey Team was unstoppable in their first semifinal game against Sweden. Monique Lamoureux started to fire at 7:14 in the first period. This was the first goal of the game. At 8:23, forward Meghan Duggan added another goal. Duggan’s power play goal made it 2-0 in favor of Team USA.
US Team continued their momentum in the second period with the third goal from defenseman Angela Ruggiero at 3:22. At 5:58, Caitlin Cahow contributed to make it 4-0. Sweden’s Pernilla Winberg scored for their team at 9:34 in the second period. Winberg’s powerplay goal made it 4-1 but US doesn’t want Sweden to have the last shot in the second period. Karen Thatcher popped home a rebound goal at 13:35.
Lamoureux made her second goal at the start of the third period. Lamoureux teammate Kerry Weiland added another goal at 7:15. Kelli Stack showed great effort at 15:20 making it 8-1. Lamoureux sealed their victory and completed her hat trick on a power play goal with 2 minutes and 81 seconds remaining.
