United States’ Olympic Men’s Hockey Team led Group A with 9 points. US had never been defeated in Vancouver and they are scheduled to face the third placer Switzerland in the quarterfinal round today, February 24, 2010 at the Canada Hockey Place. US Team defeated Canada in Game 17 on Sunday night, Feb. 21 (See results here – Canada vs US). New York Rangers captain Chris Drury broke a 2-2 tie at 16:46 in the second period. New Jersey Devils captain Jamie Langenbrunner contributed a power-play goal at the start of the third period but at 16:51, Sidney Crosby’s power-play goal lifted Canada’ score to 3. Alternate captain for the Vancouver Canucks, Ryan Kesler, sprawls onto the ice and puts the puck into the empty net, securing the victory if the United States, with just 1 minute and 30 seconds left.
