The body of the 43-year old U.S. lottery winner, Abraham Shakespeare, has been found buried under a concrete slab in a rural backyard between Plant City and Brandon in eastern Hillsborough County, Florida. He is a former truck driver’s assistant who won $31 million in 2006 but vanished without trace in April 2009.

Winning a huge amount of money is the best thing that ever happened to Shakespeare’s life. That’s what he felt at the time he won the lottery but later on he felt that it’s not really the best thing but the worst thing that ever happened to him. It may be true that money is the root of all evils and that’s what he realized when he’s so-called friends pestered him for money.

According to his brother, Robert Brown, he often wished he had never won in the lottery. He always said that he better off broke than seeing his life turned in a bad way. Before he disappeared last year, he was complaining of being exploited by hangers-on who tried to take his money. His family did not report him missing until November for they thought he was just hiding (avoiding some people who want his money) somewhere in the Caribbean.

According to Associated Press reports, the fingerprints used by Hillsborough County sheriff’s detectives confirmed that the body found in the backyard belonged to Shakespeare. That property where his body found, belongs to Moore’s boyfriend named Shar Krasniqi. Dorice Donegan “DeeDee” Moore is said to be his lover and financial adviser who helped him open a company. Authorities have not arrested anyone and no suspects have been named in the case. They will still investigate on how long the remains have been buried and the cause of death. As of now, they cannot give further details about Shakespeare’s death for they’re still looking for additional evidence in the case.
