Nevada Wolf Pack vs Southern Methodist Mustangs live match for Sheraton Hawaii Bowl is scheduled tonight, December 24, 2009 at 8:00 PM EST. Nevada (Nev) vs Southern Methodist (SMU) will be held at the Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. The last time the SMU Mustangs played in a bowl game, was also in Hawaii. It is a long-awaited bowl for them tonight.
Coach June Sheldon Jones III wanted to reach the Hawaii Bowl and he told his team that he wants to dedicate it to his friend and special teams coach Frank Gansz, who died on April 27, 2009. This serves as the team’s inspiration in every game they played.
After winning against Tulane on November 28, SMU has bosted their confidence in their match against Nevada tonight. Tulane and SMU were tied on first quarter but SMU left them scoreless on the second quarter. Tulane scored more on third (7-3) and fourth quarter (7-6) but its not enough to beat SMU’s score on the second quarter. Running back Shawnbrey McNeal rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns with 5:23 remaining, to lead SMU to a 26-21 win.
