Canada Men’s Hockey Team is currently on the lead with the score of 4-1 in the first period. Ryan Getzlaf scored first at 2:21. Defenceman Dan Boyle set up an easy tap for Getzlaf. At 12:09, Boyle added a power-play goal for Canada.

At 12:55 in the same period, Right winger Rick Nash scored for the third goal of the team. Russian defenceman Dmitri Kalinin immediately stopped the fire and scored for a goal at 14:39. With 2 minutes left in the first period, Brenden Morrow, team captain of Dallas Stars, restored Canada’s 3-goal lead.

Canada’s great performance continued in the second period with Corey Perry scoring at 3:10. Another defenceman, Shea Weber, blasts one from Toews, at 4:07. Maxim Afinogenov of Russia immediately pause Canada’s unstoppable momentum but Perry comes back with another goal giving Canada a 5-goal lead.

At 11:40, Russia’s Sergei Gonchar, power-play goal makes it 7-3, cuts Canada’s lead to four.

If Canada continues to score, Russia will experienced what Germany had experienced yesterday (Canada vs Germany – Game 20).
