manny-pacquiao-leg-injuryA week before the Pacquiao-Clottey fight, there are some reports stating that Pacquiao has sustained serious leg injury while preparing for the fight against the former IBF Welterweight Champion, Joshua “The Grand Master” Clottey on March 13. These reports were denied by Pacquiao’s camp.

Trainer Freddie Roach said that it was just shin splints and not really an injury. Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz also confirmed that it is not a serious injury and it is just cramps. He also added that boxing fans should not worry because it has nothing to do with Pacquiao’s upcoming match.

Pacquiao said that he suffered the same ailment in his fight against Juan Manuel Marquez and it is just the same minor pain.

Conditioning Coach Alex Ariza didn’t deny the fact Pacquiao has suffered from shin splints and this is what he said in an interview made by a news network in the Philippines:

“This was usually a pretty bad injury for normal athletes but fortunately, for us we were able to get it early and take care of it so let’s just hope that we can take care of it. We continue the treatment and make it to the fight.”

Pacquiao was seen running at the Los Angeles High School track field in West Olympic Blvd. which showed that he have already recovered from left leg pains.
