NHL Winter Classic 2011 : Capitals vs Penguins – Everything is improving at the Heinz Field and with the great condition of the field, the preempted game will resumes tonight.
Washington Capitals vs Pittsburgh Penguins is set for the NHL Winter Classic 2011. Capitals will host the game at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, USA. The Winter Classic game will be covered live on ESPN tonight this January 1, 2011 at 8:00 p.m.
According to NHL official, ice in the stadiums is in good condition and the official added that the ice condition will be dry with dropping temperatures.
Ice is Okay? Staal is Okay!
Jordan Staal, Pittsburgh Penguins forward is confirmed playing in the NHL Winter Classic 2011 this Saturday night against the Capitals.
This will be Jordan Staal’s first game of the season after getting back from his hand and foot injuries.
Winter Classic 2011 Postponement
Originally the Winter Classic game between Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins is scheduled for 1:00 PM on December 31, 2010, but the game was postponed due to bad rain condition. The Winter Classic was moved to January 1, 2011 at 8:00 pm EST.
Few weeks before the big NHL game, the possibility of cancellation was already raised for the Winter Classic.
