New Zealand Earthquake Death Toll Rises

New Zealand – The death toll update this week in the New Zealand earthquake went up to 145 while 200 people are still missing. Prime Minister John Key of New Zealand is now facing the greatest tragedy in their country.

It was 1931 when New Zealand had an earthquake that took 256 lives, Prime Minister Key said that this “may be New Zealand’s single most tragic event”. Next month, Key announced that there will be a two minute silence tribute for those earthquake victims.

Prime Minister Key who met the relatives of those missing and dead said that this maybe a chance “to stop and remember those who have lost their lives, those who are missing, and the hundreds of people who are mourning family and friends”.

It’s now confirmed that there were 145 bodies found and declared dead while 200+ victim were still missing. The Police said that those dead body will be brought to a temporary morgue. The authority also added that they feared that a large number of Asian students lost in the collapsed school.
