Manchester City manager Leslie Mark Hughes said that Robson de Souza or widely known as Robinho will still stay at their team despite of some controversies that he will sign up for Barcelona club on February next year.
The Brazilian striker currently has an injured right ankle which has kept him on the sidelines. He suffered during Brazil’s 3-1 victory over Argentina last September World Cup qualifiers. Robinho’s absence have earned some speculations that he is thinking about his future if whether he will stay in City or he will go to Barcelona.
Although Robinho have struggled to cope with English living and he said that he dreams to be part of Barca, the top management of City insisted that he is not going to leave the club. City officials said that they didn’t make any move to talk with Barca regarding Robinho’s transfer.
Gary Cook, Chief Executive of Manchester City, said that people are trying to make mischief. He said that this issue might have originated somewhere else but not from them. He also clarrified the issue regarding their meeting with Robinho this week. He said that they are going to meet Robinho regarding fitness concern so that he can go back and play again.
Speaking of fitness, Hughes confirmed that Robinho is not fit to play this weekend. It is not yet sure whether he can play for the team on November 21 against Liverpool and November 28 against Hull City.
