Two Norwegian journalists of Verdens Gang newspaper were arrested on Wednesday, July 21, after taking pictures of the Astor Courts estate where Chelsea Clinton and her fiance Marc Mezinsky’s wedding took place.
According to Maj. Michael A. Kopy of the New York State Police, the 43-year old photographer named Thomas Bjorn Nilsson and 41-year old Kjerste Sortland were charged with trespassing offenses after they were stopped around 2 p.m. on the Astor estate.
AP reported that the managing editor of Verdens Gang, Helje Solberg, said that the police arrested when their journalists tried to take pictures of the estate’s gate. Solberg also added that Sortland and Nilsson were not on the property and they didn’t know that taking picture of the Astor Courts estate’s gate was forbidden.
Maj. Kopy didn’t provide any further details but he said that anybody who is located on the grounds of the estate will be arrested and prosecuted.
