Degree Level Education Required For Nursing Graduates On 2013

According to the Department of Health, beginning on 2013, all nursing graduates in England must have degrees. They should at least spend three to four years training to obtain a degree which would give them vast knowledge and advance level of practice and experience to meet the needs of their patients.

Degree-level education is said to uplift the standards of nursing. Community health experience will be added and will be one of the main focus in this new standard. Ann Keen, Helath Minister of England, said that the it will help the nurses in the decision-making process, it will give them more credibility, and thus they can be able to make high-level judgments in which they often rely to the doctor.

One of the major concerns here is the cost of the nursing degree. But the Department of Health already assure the nursing students that the costs of a nursing degree would be no greater than the current diploma.
