Courtney Lee Crowned 2009 Rose Queen

PASADENA, CALIFORNIA – Another lovely lady and active youth from Arcadia won the title this year! Courtney Chou Lee was surprised when her name was announced as the chosen 91st Rose Queen and the fifth Asian-American Rose Queen at the Tournament House in Pasadena at 9:30 AM yesterday.

Courtney Lee is a 4th year Arcadia High School student. She is the captain of her school’s varsity volleyball team, president of the Arcadia High Senior Men and Women service group, a vice chairman of the Arcadia Assiteens Auxiliary, a Girl Scout and founded the youth philanthropy group, Teens Promoting Stroke Awareness, and committee member of the Methodist Hospital Foundation.

The six princesses of the Royal Court who will join Courtney to reign over 120th Rose Parade, 95th Rose Bowl Game on January 1, and will take part of several community events next year are Mary Elizabeth Gaule, Jasmine Janae Jenkins, Bridget Kathleen McDonald, Mary Patricia Novell, Quinn Olivia, and Lauren Nicole Valenzuela.
