No. 21 Oklahoma State (9-3) will face the Mississippi Rebels (8-4) on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
This is Oklahoma Cowboys’ fourth straight bowl appearance and seventh in the last eight seasons while Mississippi Rebels heads to Cotton Bowl for the second consecutive season.
Even though the Rebels doesn’t have a rank this season, Cowboys’ said that their bowl game this Saturday will not be an easy game for them. Added to that one of their best players is out. Oklahoma State University (OSU) informally announced through an email statement on January 1 that their senior kick returner and defensive back Perrish Cox is suspended for Saturday’s bowl game. It is said that Cox will be out on their Cotton Bowl game against Ole Miss because he violated the team’s rules. The OSU didn’t clearly stated the exact reason but there was a speculation that the suspension was related to curfew violation.
