Chelsea thrashed Blackburn Rovers and leave them scoreless in their game yesterday at the Stamford Bridge. The 5-0 win against Rovers placed them to the number one spot pushing Manchester United down to the second place.
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has nothing to say with his team’s impressive performance against Rovers which brings them to the top of the Premier league and 2 points away from from Manchester United. Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka took a shot at 20 minutes in the game and it was diverted into his own net by Rovers centre-back Gael Givet-Viaros.
Rovers tries to level the score but unfortunately Norwegian left winger Morten Gamst Pedersen can’t avoid the bad tackle so he was given a yellow card at 45 minutes in the game.
Three minutes after the the foul, box-to-box midfielder Frank Lampard took a shot. At 52 minutes of the game, Michael Kojo Essien find an open space to take another shot and that gives Chelsea their third goal in the game. A minute after Essien scored, Matko Kalinic replaced striker Jason Roberts to change the team’s play but the Blues are not yet tired. Five minutes after the substitution in Rover’s team, Frank Lampard scored took his second goal and put Chelsea 4-0 up after wrong-footing goalkeeper Paul Robinson from the spot.
Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce is not feeling good because Chelsea is getting stronger and even stronger as minutes passed by. He decided to replace his right defender Michel Salgado and put Lars Jacobsen in the game. A minute after Rover’s subsitution, Ancelotti replaced Brazilian right back Juliano Belletti and put Paulo Ferreira in the game.
After three minutes of Chelsea’s substitution, Didier Drogba fires up and make it even worse for Rovers as he goes for the fifth goal of their team. he was always guarded by Rovers since the first half but after 64 minutes, he finally took his first goal.
The match has ended and Rovers wan’t able to score at the last minutes of the game.
