The only child of former President Bill Clinton and current U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, married her longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky at Astor Courts located on the Hudson River in Rhinebeck, New York. Astor Courts is a Stanford White building which was commissioned by John Jacob Astor IV.
The lavish ceremony was attended by up to 500 guests which includes A-list stars from the entertainment industry and popular politicians. According to CBS News, the guests includes Queen Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey, Hollywood blockbuster filmmaker Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw, nine-time Grammy award winner Barbra Streisand, CNN founder Ted Turner, former Prime Minister of United Kingdom John Major, family advisor Harold Ickes, Clinton money man Terry McAuliffe, Presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, songwriter and philanthropist Denise Rich, and President Barack Obama.
Chelsea wore a strapless white gown made by well-known wedding gown designer Vera Wang and Marc wore a simple black tuxedo made by Burberry’s Christopher Bailey. The couple said their “I do’s” in front of ceremony officials Reverend William Shillady, a Methodist minister from New York City and Rabbi James Ponet, a Jewish chaplain at Yale, while their were standing under a rustic bower of vines and white flowers reminiscent of a traditional Jewish chuppah.
According to New York Daily News, Chelsea and Marc’s wedding is estimated to cost $3 to $5 million. Their wedding is said to be the one of the most expensive wedding of all time.
