Canada’s Olympic Women’s Hockey Team, the top team in Group A, is scheduled to face the top 2 team in Group B. Canada dominated Group A with a record of 3 wins and no losses while Finland has 2 wins and one loss. Finland showed good performance on their previous games, enough to make it to the semifinal round.
CANADA VS FINLAND LIVE UPDATES:
Two-time Olympic gold medallist Cherie Piper who also plays for Mississauga Chiefs of the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL) gave her team their first goal int he game at 5:22 in the first period. Haley Irwin who plays for the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs added another goal at 14:36, also in the first period.
At 16:21, Canada’s Meghan Agosta contributed a goal making it 3-0.
Irwin earned her second goal at 4:23 in the third period and for just 1 minute and 43 seconds left, CWHL Most Valuable Playe Caroline Ouellette scored giving Canada their fifth goal in the game.
