American Idol Season 9 contestant Vered “Didi” Benami was eliminated on Tuesday night, March 30, 2010, finishing 10th place. Didi Benami is a 23-year old singer from Knoxville Tennessee who sang “Hey Jude” by “The Beatles” during her audition.
Katie Stevens, Siobhan Magnus, Tim Urban, and Didi Benami were the bottom four this week. Siobhan from Marstons Mills, Massachusetts was safe and the rest were in the bottom three. Katie was called next leaving Tim and Didi. As predicted by “The King of Mean” Simon Cowell, Tim will be safe because the audience is going to vote for him, and it really happened. All that was left is Didi and the judges declined to use their once-per-season save on her which would keep her voted out by fans for at least another week.
Didi sang “What Becomes of the Brokenhearted” by Jimmy Ruffin. She went home with a broken heart. Cowell gave Didi the bad news that she was going home and this is what he said to her:
“But it was a million times better than what you did last night.”
Now that Didi was out in the contest, who do you think will be eliminated next in American Idol Season 9?
