Woman stopped from boarding U.S. plane with 'service' peacock

According to a post in the airline blog "Live and Let's Fly", a woman tried to bring the peacock on board a recent United Airlines flight at Newark's Liberty International Airport. Emotional support animals are allowed to fly for free on United with the proper documentation. "We explained this to the customers on three separate occasions before they arrived at the airport", United Airlines announced in a statement.

And, it turns out, fake emotional support animals have been such a problem for airlines that Delta has had to be quite specific about what animals are not allowed on a flight.

This unidentified traveler brought her absolutely big "emotional-support" peacock to the airport, claiming that the majestic bird had his own ticket for a United Airlines flight, according to a report from Fox News. She offered to pay for a second seat for the oversized bird, but claimed she had a right to bring it on board as her emotional support animal.

The Jet Set, a travel talk show, posted photos of the peacock to Facebook.

The United Airlines incident comes after Delta released a statement on January 19 announcing new requirements when it comes to emotional support animals. In response, Delta is imposing new, stricter regulations around emotional support animals beginning March 1. Passengers who attempt to travel with emotional support animals will need to present a signed letter from a doctor or mental professional, as well as a signed document that states the animal can behave properly during a flight.

ECB Monetary Policy Speculation Weighs on Euro US Dollar (EUR/USD) Exchange Rate
The advance came after the weekly EIA inventory data showed a drawdown in U.S. crude stockpiles for the tenth straight week. The dollar fell 0.52 percent against a basket of major currencies and held near three-year lows.

If you are an "emotional support animal" that accompanies your owner on airline flights, your traveling days might be cut short in the future.

Last summer, a man was hospitalized from bite wounds after another passenger's 70-pound dog attacked him while boarding a Delta flight.

"Unfortunately, untrained animals can lead to safety issues for our team, our passengers and working dogs onboard our aircraft", the airline said in a statement. But WestJet is a whole other story.

Airlines are also never required to accept snakes, reptiles, rodents, ferrets, or spiders.
