Houston Police Arrest Intoxicated Man With Arsenal Of Weapons In Hotel Room

Officers got more than they expected after they were called to the Hyatt Regency Downtown off of Louisiana Street in Houston to handle a drunk guest.

Earlier this year, a man shot dead 58 people from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel, Las Vegas.

The investigation is ongoing, but the incident started when authorities were dispatched to the hotel after an off-duty police officer working security called for backup in dealing with a heavily intoxicated man at the bar. Officers and staff found the weapons and ammo when they went into his room to grab his belongings. Senties said a trespassing charge would stem from the fact that the man refused to leave the hotel when told to do so. Police found several weapons including an assault rifle, a shotgun and loads of ammunition. A hotel employee said the party was still on despite the "disturbance". The hotel is planning a big bash for New Year's Eve, one that includes the dropping of 50,000 balloons at midnight.
