Lady Gaga set for Las Vegas residency

"The rumors are true!" she captioned an Instagram photo of her signing what looks like a contract in front of a Park Theater step and repeat. On Tuesday, Lady Gaga announced that she will embark on a 2-year residency at MGM's Park Theater, set to begin in December 2018. Meet me in Las Vegas!

As Britney Spears' Las Vegas residency comes to a close, it's time to welcome a new superstar to the land of poker chips and bright lights (and even brighter sunshine).

She says she is humbled to be joining a historical line-up of performers that include Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.

Lady Gaga recently had to cancel the European leg of her "Joanne" tour because of issues with chronic pain due to fibromyalgia.

The Lady Gaga residency is upon us. "It has been a life-long dream of mine to play Las Vegas", Gaga said in a news release. She snatched wigs at Super Bowl Halftime Show, headlined Coachella under short notice, debuted her own Netflix documentary, kicked off her Joanne tour, and earned two Grammy nominations for her Joanne album.

Clear viewing (before bedtime) for tonight's Geminid meteor shower
Night-time sky-watchers willing to courageous the cold can look forward to a spectacular display of shooting stars tonight. This particular meteor show is called the Geminids because it seems to radiate from the constellation of Gemini.

Her residency will be at the MGM Park Theater, which has 5,3000 seats. "I am SO HAPPY and excited beyond belief to make my own brand new show here with my new Vegas family".

According to local reports, Gaga will perform 36 dates. "Thank you to my fans for always believing in me".

The star excitedly took to social media to tell her fans, or "little monsters", the good news about her upcoming string of dates at the MGM Park Theatre, something which she described as a "lifelong dream".

The six-time Grammy victor is now in the middle of her Joanne World Tour.
