Suspect charged with murder in death of Temple U student

He is charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and related charges.

In fact, he says it's early in the investigation into the murder of 22-year-old Jenna Burleigh.

State police at Honesdale assisted Philadelphia police and the FBI with the current investigation.

He was ordered held without bail.

Philadelphia police said he had confessed to "elements of the crime".

It unclear if the driver, who has not been identified, knew what Hupperterz was transporting.

Police say a body presumed to be Burleigh's was found on lakefront property there owned by Hupperterz's grandmother.

It is the first time in Rakhine's bitter and bloody crisis that Hindus have fled the country - a sign violence is billowing out. Nearly 400 people have died in Myanmar since the country's army stepped up a military crackdown on Rohingya Muslims last week.

Quoting an unnamed police source, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Hupperterz had been found with scratches on his face and a cut on his hand, which he said he had gotten from a broken bowl. He told them he didn't remember who he left with because he "had been so drunk".

The next day, Edward Burleigh said he hadn't heard from his daughter, which was unusual, so he drove to the university to see if she was there.

He offered her painkillers after she had knee surgery, she said, which she also declined.

Josh Hupperterz, a former Temple University student, was charged Sunday morning with killing Burleigh. He was accused of breaking into a home in 2013 to steal electronics, credit cards and beer, reported.

Burleigh was with Hupperterz at around 2 Pub Web near Temple's main campus. She was majoring in film and media expressions.

Burleigh spent the last two years at Montgomery County Community College and began her first semester at Temple earlier in the week. "Particularly thinking about the heartache and grief that those parents must be going through right now".

Burleigh's dad, Ed Burleigh, posted a sad message on his Facebook page on Saturday, saying: "Our Beautiful Angel Jenna is now in Heaven".
