Stacy Lewis Donates Cambia Portland Classic Earnings to Hurricane Harvey Relief

"When I said that I had the goal of winning the tournament, and you've got to get a lot of things right to go your way", Lewis said immediately following her victory.

Stacy Lewis donated her £150,000 winnings to the flood victims in Houston after holding off the challenge of Chun In-gee to claim victory at the Cambia Portland Classic.

With so many players and others from the golf world affected by the hurricane and making their own sizable donations, KPMG, one of Lewis' sponsors, announced during Sunday's final round that the company would match her donation.

Stacy Lewis shot an 8-under 64 on Friday for a share of the lead with two-time defending champion Brooke Henderson and first-round leader In Gee Chun at 10-under 134 at tree-lined Columbia Edgewater.

It's one of many great stories from athletes, particularly golfers in Texas' hour of need. She hit it to the back of the green and couldn't get the ball to stop.

Lewis, who is poised to win her first tournament in three years, is donating her prize money, win or lose, to the victims of Tropical Storm Harvey, which has killed at least 42 people and unleashed massive flooding that damaged up to 50,000 homes in Houston.

I've admired the way Lewis has persevered through the 83 starts since that Arkansas win.

Cities stepping up to house Houston-area evacuees
Red Cross spokesman Don Lauritzen said Tuesday that there are 45 shelters in the Houston area, along the Gulf Coast and elsewhere. Now, they understand the facility is overwhelmed, but they're not feeling all that positive at the moment.

For Chun, it marked another runner-up finish in 2017. Chun missed a short birdie putt at the par-4 14th, and pulled to within a stroke with a 45-foot birdie at the par-3 16th. A shot further back at 13-under through three rounds is In Gee Chun, who shot a 3-under-par 69 on Saturday. She added two more on the back nine (10 and 18) while only having just one bogey on 16.

"I knew I could win, but it's always hard".

Jutanugarn said she has "pretty good" momentum heading into the next stretch of tournaments on the LPGA Tour schedule, which includes the final major of the year.

Henderson was one of only two golfers now tied for 20th or better to shoot over par on Saturday.

The LPGA Tour now moves to Indianapolis for the Indy Women in Tech Championship ahead of the Evian Championship in France the following week.

Gaby Lewis (Razorbacks) started the day tied for fifth but finished in a tie for 24th after a 2-over 74.

Hataoka carded three birdies against a single bogey, sitting eight shots out of first.
