Coroner's report adds some details on ex-detainee's death

According to the Enquirer, the coroner's report found no botulism in Warmbier's body and ruled that he died from lack of oxygen due to an unknown head injury that had happened more than a year earlier.

A coroner's report on Otto Warmbier revealed small scars, but no signs of torture, were found on the American student's body - the shocking news coming hours after his parents' detailed the horrifying shape Warmbier was in after 15 months imprisonment in North Korea. President Donald Trump tweeted after their TV appearance: "Otto was tortured beyond belief by North Korea".

According to this report, Otto Warmbier presented some minor signs on his body, but nothing that indicated a torture.

Otto Warmbier died in a coma in OH in June - only a week after returning from North Korea where he spent months under Kim Jong-un's wrath.

North Korea said he contracted botulism shortly after being sentenced, but United States doctors have disputed this. "No mother, no parent should ever have gone through what we went through".

Hitting back, North Korea's foreign ministry has accused the USA of "luring and pushing" Otto Warmbier into breaking the country's rules, adding he was given a "mission" by "an anti-DPRK conspiracy organisation in the US".

She said: The fact that Otto was alone all that time with no one to comfort him is inexcusable. However, the report stated that his teeth appeared "natural and in good fix". "He was in a blind and deaf state with arms and legs deformed".

The comments came after an OH county coroner had determined Mr Warmbier had died from a lack of oxygen to the brain. But the Warmbiers hit back against the Communist regime's claims and urged the US government to list the country as a state sponsor of terror.

In a case like this, a full-scale autopsy would normally be carried out to provide more details on the cause of death, but at the request of the Warmbiers no autopsy was performed.

"His bottom teeth look like they had taken a pair of pliers and rearranged them", Fred Warmbier said. "They're terrorists", Mr Warmbier said on Fox and Friends.

"I felt very comfortable that there wasn't any evidence of trauma [to the teeth or jawbone]", she said.

"Great interview on @foxandfriends with the parents of Otto Warmbier: 1994 - 2017".

"We don't know what happened to him, and this is the bottom line, " Hamilton County Coroner Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco said. North Korean officials have denied charges that he was tortured.

After the airing of the interview, Trump for the first time accused North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un's regime of torturing Warmbier.

Sammarco said her office respected those wishes and had also determined that a full autopsy would tell them little they could not tell by other means.
