Blast in London's Tower Hill Tube Station, several passengers injured

Passengers heading into London fled in panic after the blast as the train was about to depart Parsons Green Station in West London at 8:20am.

One witness suggested the flaming object had been dropped onto the train by someone on the platform of the station, which is the main tube stop for the Tower of London.

Transport for London (TFL) said some services had been suspended and there were severe delays due to the alert.

"Fire believed to have been caused by mobile phone charger overheating", said the tweet.

History: First US Air Force base in Israel
The new base opens as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and USA president Donald Trump plan to meet before the U.N. The base will be established inside one of the IDF's already existing Air Force bases used for air defense.

The British Transport Police confirmed just after 1pm that the incident was thought to be caused by a "mobile phone charger overheating". The explosion itself appears to have been rather small, especially given the photos we've seen posted on Twitter.

According to details, the small explosion occurred inside a District Line train.

Police said they were called to a "fire alert". Around 5 people suffered minor injuries.
