TMZ publishes photos of bruises on Ezekiel Elliott's accuser

Elliott stands to miss games against the New York Giants, Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers.

Dallas Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott is "surprised and disappointed" that he was issued a six-game suspension by the NFL Friday for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

If the appeal is upheld, Elliott will be able to return to the Cowboys on October 23, the day after the teams' week 7 game against San Francisco.

Elliott says he "strongly (disagrees)" with the NFL's decision to suspend him.

"I admit that I am far from ideal, but I plan to continue to work very hard, on and off the field, to mature and earn the great opportunity I have been given".

Arsenal boss Wenger counting on Oxlade-Chamberlain to stay
A report from the Daily Mail claims that Chelsea's rumored interest in Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has increased in the last week.

Elliott's absence should hurt Dallas through their first six games. "League investigators interviewed more than a dozen witnesses, including Ms. Tiffany Thompson, who had alleged multiple instances of physical violence in July 2016, and Mr. Elliott", the league continued in their statement.

Last season, Elliott led the National Football League in rushing as a rookie.

Over the course of the past year, the league conducted an extensive investigation. For each the league said medical experts reviewed photographs and found the injuries were "recent and consistent" with the victim's description of the incident. Immediately after it was announced, many speculated if Elliott would appeal it. TMZ said Elliott told police investigators he didn't cause the bruises and they happened when the accuser was in a bar fight.

Elliott was also the subject of backlash in March after video posted online purportedly showed him pulling down a woman's top and exposing one of her breasts at a St. Patrick's Day parade. But without Elliott, who rushed for over 1,600 yards and scored 16 touchdowns a year ago, Dallas will need to turn to backups Darren McFadden, Rod Smith, and Alfred Morris.

The Columbus City Attorney's office, which was responsible for the investigation, opted not to pursue charges because of "conflicting and inconsistent information".
