Avengers 4 Set Photos Confirm Another Returning Player

Fans who watched Spider-Man: Homecoming knew the superhero had popped the question to his assistant-turned-lover at a press conference right at the end of the film, but never actually got to hear her answer.

And on Wednesday the former confirmed it was the latter in an Instagram post from the set of Avengers: Infinity War.

Fans were also quick to point out that sadly the news nearly guarantees that Paltrow may not return for another film, as usually in Marvel films once two characters get engaged, they end up being killed off.

"Avengers: Infinity War" is a power-packed collaboration of superheroes as they seal the remaining chapters of their story.

Taken from the Avengers: Infinity War sequel's set in Fayetteville, Georgia, the image shows Banner hugging Tony with a distraught look on his face while Pepper looks on with some anxiety.

After Potts was absent in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, it was left for Spider-Man: Homecoming to briefly reunite the on-screen pair.

And while they don't reveal much other than that, the photos do feature some glimpses of her working with Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark.

The actress was spotted on the set of the upcoming Marvel film with co-stars Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo and Jon Favreau on Tuesday, August 22, AceShowbiz reveals.

Gwyneth Paltrow made her debut as Pepper Potts in the first Iron Man movie in 2008. Thanos may still be a looming threat in Avengers 4, and Tony might lay himself on the line yet again to protect the Earth from its intergalactic foes. However, the return of Pepper in The Avengers 4 could just be the latest sign that the film will somehow conclude Tony's storyline in the MCU, with him and Pepper finally settling down together once and for all.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film is scheduled to arrive in theaters worldwide in 2019.
