Soyuz space capsule carrying 3 astronauts blasts off to orbiting lab

The duo are scheduled to blast off at 11:41 a.m. EDT.

The Soyuz MS-05 mission is set to launch, carrying the Expedition 52 crew to the International Space Station.

After launching, the trio will travel for six hours in the Soyuz MS-05 spacecraft before docking to the space station's Rassvet module at 6 p.m. NASA TV coverage of the docking will begin at 5:15 p.m.

Those flights included trips on all five space shuttles-Columbia, Challenger, Discover, Atlantis and Endeavor-and missions aboard the Russian Space Station Mir and the International Space Station.

Wayne County High School head coach Todd Mangum has another 2018 Ole Miss commit: defensive tackle Quentin Bivens. Ole Miss is facing 21 accusations from the NCAA about improper recruiting.

The Citadel also will stream the launch on its Facebook page. Cosmonaut Sergey Ryazanskiy first trained for space flights as the commander of a crew during Russia's 105-day Mars500 isolation experiment in 2009.

Sixty-year-old Italian Nespoli is the most experienced of the new crew, having already spent 174 days in space. His science mission for ESA is called Vita (short for Vitality, Innovation, Technology and Ability) and was selected by Italy's ASI space agency.

NASA's Jack Fischer and Peggy Whitson, as well as the veteran Russian cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin, will welcome the three spacemen on the space station.

Early telemetry data showed they were on schedule to rendezvous with the space station six hours after launch, according to the Russian space agency Roscosmos.
