BJP parliamentary board in its meeting held on Wednesday evening chose to field Shah and re-nominate union minister Smriti Zubin Irani to Rajya Sabha from Gujarat, party leader JP Nadda announced. BJP president Amit Shah is set to make his debut as a member of Parliament with the BJP parliamentary board today announcing that he will contest the August 8 Rajya Sabha elections from Gujarat.

Shah at present is an MLA from Gujarat, where BJP has a government. Rajput, along with two other leaders, joined BJP after quitting Congress on Thursday.

But, Steven Spielberg not only had a talent search. "It was like the most awesome flash-forward and flash-back at the same time", Spielberg said.

As per the programme, Mr Shah is expected to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his ministerial colleagues on the first day of his visit and later will meet the district presidents, state executive committee members, and chiefs of different cells on the next two days. The BJP has 121 MLAs in the 182-member Assembly while the Congress 57 members. Smriti Irani's term as an MP is coming to an end on 18th August.

With Venkaiah Naidu being fielded as vice-presidential nominee, Manohar Parrikar moving to Goa as State Chief Minister and Anil Madhav Dave's untimely passing away, the Union Cabinet may require "more experienced hands and talent", sources said.
