Two ballot boxes along with ballot papers in two colours arrived in Bengaluru at the Vidhana Soudha on Sunday from Delhi . It has also allowed five MLAs to vote in the Parliament and four MLAs to vote in other state legislative assemblies.

At the all-party meeting convened by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged leaders to reach out to MPs and MLAs of their respective parties to ensure that "not a single vote goes waste". Shah was to address a public rally in Gandhinagar while Kovind was to meet MPs and MLAs. The voting for the presidential election was completed three hours before the time limit.

Besides the members of parliament, which includes 233 from the Rajya Sabha (upper house) and 543 from the Lok Sabha (lower house), elected members of legislative assemblies in 29 states and seven union territories are empowered to cast their votes.

The votes will be counted on July 20. Though BJP government wanted the election to be one-sided and smooth, the opposition backed Meira Kumar and supported her. Pranab is said to be relieved from the position of President on July 25th.
