PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Getting FOV Slider In July Update

Bluehole Studio has announced that a FOV slider will be coming to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds in the next monthly update.

In addition to the news, Greene tweeted details about the team's plans for the first-person servers. The third-person view allows players to have a better look of their surroundings and check around corners for possible danger, while the first-person view is often used for engaging against enemies for better accuracy.

Following up with more information, Greene states "We will bring 1st person only to EU/NA SOLO & DUO games first, and once we have polished the system, we will expand to other regions". Players can technically switch between third-person and first-person views at will, but the vast majority of players prefer to stick to third-person.

Oh Goody, Facebook Messenger Is Getting Ads
Chudnovsky also said that the shift from beta testing to general availability will be based on user reception. The news means people will see Messenger ads in the home tab of their Messenger mobile app.

They are set to be added to the game in the next update, and will not be replacing old servers but adding new ones.

Servers that are restricted to the first-person view mode have been a highly requested feature by the community since the game's inception, and will essentially make Battlegrounds a much more hardcore experience.

In a 180-degree move, Greene confirmed that first-person servers will be arriving alongside the FOV slider in July's update, just two weeks away.
