Nene, Rockets Reportedly Agree on 3-Year, $11 Million Contract

Nene's new deal is for three years and $11 million, the report says.

Nene initially agreed to a four-year, $15 million contract with the Rockets, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, but Bobby Marks of ESPN reported those terms were in violation of the NBA's new Over-38 rule.

The Houston Rockets and Nene have a contract - again.

NYC subway riders evacuated from four trains after emergency brake incident
Jack Cox, a software developer, said he felt a "large thump" and heard and felt the train grinding for as long as 30 seconds. Governor Andrew Cuomo, who controls the MTA board, has not issued a statement on the accident.

So what happened? Well, Nene is 34 years old, and a four-year contract would therefore carry him into his age-38 season. "During my first free agency, I wanted to go somewhere I can have a chance to be on a team that's trying to play for something, and in Houston we're definitely trying to play for a championship". He averaged 10 points per game in the playoffs including a 28-point effort in game 4 of the Rockets series against Oklahoma City. He provided good minutes at center, serving as another rim-rolling target for James Harden (and now Chris Paul) with enough passing ability and patience to keep the ball moving.

Qi, who is from China and was the 43rd pick in the 2016 National Basketball Association draft, comes to the Rockets 15 years after the franchise drafted Hall of Famer Yao Ming with the No. 1 overall pick.
