Dr. Luke summons Lady Gaga to testify in Kesha court case

Kesha's former producer and alleged abuser officially subpoenaed Lady Gaga for a deposition on Saturday, based on text messages that Kesha exchanged with the "Perfect Illusion" singer.

The singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, sent over a spreadsheet containing four pages of text messages that was heavily edited to remove quite a bit of information including one entire page.

As the legal drama between record producer Dr. Luke and Kesha forges on, the public can expect to see more celebrities drawn into the conflict.

Repeated requests for Lady Gaga to sit for a deposition have been met with responses from her own attorneys, describing a busy scheduled filled with acting schedules and concert dates. "Dr. Luke's team is attempting to manipulate the truth and draw press attention to their case by exaggerating Lady Gaga's role and falsely accusing her of dodging reasonable requests".

Kesha first sued Dr. Luke in 2015 claiming he gave her date rape drugs, assaulted her on an airplane and then at his home between 2005 and 2008.

Dr. Luke has asked for Gaga to be deposed since March of this year.

In August 2016, Kesha, 30, dropped a separate sexual assault lawsuit against him. Dr. Luke countersued shortly after.

Gaga's team followed up with a statement to Billboard, saying that "she has provided all of the relevant information in her possession and is at most an ancillary witness in this process".

In documents obtained by TMZ, Lady Gaga did not submit any written statements, but did redact too much of the content to prove useful in the court of law.

In addition to Taylor Swift, who had given him $ 250,000, Kesha was once again able to count on Lady Gaga, who was hailed for his courage on Twitter after the verdict: "there are people who love you around the world".

There is also the issue of Lady Gaga's testimony. Kesha had to endure a protracted legal battle to free herself from her contract with Gottwald, after being allegedly raped by him and subjected to years of alleged abuse.

The star had remained silent after these new revelations, Dr. Luke today requires her to testify in the face of his lawyers.
