White House officials deny claim Trump seeking Mueller firing

Chris Ruddy, a close friend of Trump and the CEO of the conservative media company Newsmax, first told PBS that the president is "considering, perhaps, terminating the special counsel, he's weighing that option". I'll say very positive things when they're warranted. "And for this president, if he does decide to [fire Mueller], it would be a big problem for him politically".

"The chain of command for the special counsel is only directly to the attorney general - and in this case, the acting attorney general", he said. If Mr. Rosenstein refused, Mr. Trump could fire him, too.

Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein testified Tuesday that if the president ordered him to fire the special counsel handling the Russian Federation investigation, he would only comply if the request was "lawful and appropriate".

The pressing question of whether the president even has the authority to fire Mueller was addressed early Tuesday morning as Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein testified before a different senate committee. She asked whether he has seen "any evidence of good cause" to fire Mueller.

Sanders' comment follows several days of speculation as to whether Trump was thinking about firing Mueller.

Mueller has been widely respected by many in Washington from both sides of the aisle, but not everyone is a fan. He interviewed the day before a few days before he was appointed special counsel with the president who was looking at him potentially to become the next Federal Bureau of Investigation director. "He comes from a law firm that represents members of the Trump family".

His impassioned response came after Senate Democrats raised questions about whether Sessions privately met with Sergey Kislyak at an April 2016 foreign policy event at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington. "Look who he is hiring". "Time to rethink", he tweeted.

ICC Champions trophy : Ben Stokes picks fight with Imad Wasim during match
Most teams have tried to swing the ball up front, and when it hasn't they have struggled to take wickets in the middle overs. However, the counter to that is fielding first means you don't have to worry about calculating what a good score might be.

Should Trump want to go around the department, the president would need to repeal the regulations enacted in 1999 that protect the special counsel from being summarily fired.

Why would Trump's friend discuss this publicly?

House Speaker Paul Ryan says the White House and President Donald Trump should let the special counsel's investigation continue, and await vindication.

Under Department of Justice rules, it is actually up to the deputy attorney general to make that call, though the president could bypass that protocol.

Several theories abound so far.

Some of Mr Trump's allies have begun questioning Mr Mueller's credibility as the investigation intensifies. "Don't waste our time".

Besides, he added, it should be Congress that carries out an investigation since it is given the role of oversight in the constitution.
