Jury deliberations at Bill Cosby's sex assault trial enter third day

Bill Cosby walks from the courtroom during jury deliberations in his sexual assault trial at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, Pa., Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

The sudden outburst felt distinctly out of place in the deliberations in which Cosby is accused of having drugged and sexually assaulted Andrea Constand in 2004.

O'Neill ordered the sequestered jury, which was selected in Pittsburgh, to return to court at 9 a.m. Wednesday to resume deliberations. They are still ongoing at this time.

With jury deliberations continuing Wednesday in Pennsylvania, Pulliam appeared on "Today" to explain why she publicly supported Cosby at his trial and reveal how she'll feel if the verdict comes in as "Guilty".

They got the case after a surprisingly speedy six days of testimony and legal arguments, cut short largely due to Cosby's defense team's decision to rest their case after little more than five minutes and just a few questions for Schaffer on Monday morning. Prosecutors argued using Cosby's own words, citing his 2005 deposition, where he admitted to giving Constand pills that she said gave her double vision and "rubbery" legs.

Bill Cosby dusted off his famous "Fat Albert" voice while leaving a Philadelphia courthouse during his ongoing sexual assault trial this week.

10 new planets that could have life discovered
A Kepler mission scientist said, for the first time, there is at least one planet that nearly matches the Earth. Scientists with the mission expect that Kepler's K2 mission will continue until sometime in 2018.

Cosby has said he gave Constand the cold and allergy medicine Benadryl before their sexual encounter at his home two years later.

Cosby faces up to 10 years in prison on each of the three counts, but they could be merged for sentencing purposes. Some 60 women have come forward accusing Mr. Cosby of sexually violating them, but the statute of limitations for prosecution had run out in almost every case. Kelly Johnson testfied that she was drugged and assaulted in 1996 so prosecutors could establish a pattern.

They also wanted to hear Cosby's wording when he referred to the three pills as "friends", as well as Constand's initial statements to authorities in Canada. "The testimony of the defendant may be used to assess the defendant's intent or motive and plan where the prosecution's theory is that the defendant operates according to a certain pattern", she said. Had she not come forward in such a public manner, it's possible none of this would have happened.

Cosby, once known as America's Dad for his portrayal of kindly Dr. Cliff Huxtable on "The Cosby Show", told police he left Constand to sleep on the couch after their "romantic interlude" while he moved upstairs to his bedroom. "Their parallel strategies make sense, given what's at stake for Mr. Cosby".

After taking the pills, Constand said, she had trouble talking and difficulty moving and was suffering double vision, before briefly losing consciousness.

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they grant permission, which Constand has done. It is suspected that Cosby may have given her a stronger pill, perhaps the Quaaludes which he had admitted to obtaining in the 70s with the intention of giving to women with whom he meant to have sex, according to the Associated Press. Attorney Gloria Allred confirmed that a civil case against Cosby is scheduled to start later this month in California. His wife of 53 years, Camille, was not with him as she was on Monday, her first appearance since the trial began June 5.
