Opera implements Messenger and WhatsApp into the browser

Other browsers now force users to switch to a different tab or browser window to communicate via the various social messaging apps.

If you get FOMO from being away from Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp, Opera's new update will please you very much.

The latest update to the Opera browser is now live and users can get it by clicking the below download link. "We believe this needs to change". While switching between the tabs to use different messengers can often prove to be a cumbersome task, Opera's Reborn beta build aims to ease up the process by allowing users to "chat side-by-side as they browse".

The new UI, pictured above, is called "Reborn", and was initially announced in February when Opera added it to Opera 44 Developer Edition.

But more importantly, Reborn includes some security and performance features, too. One of the nice features is being able to drag and drop a photo from the web straight into a conversation, but for that to work you need to have the messaging app of choice pinned, taking up half the screen.

No US Open homecoming for former Cowboys QB Tony Romo
Major league baseball pitcher turned pro golfer Rick Rhoden and Tiger Woods both said they hope Romo makes it into the U.S. He seemed genuinely touched that fans would take five hours out of their day to watch him play golf.

This feature comes from Opera's recently launched "concept browser", Neo.

Opera has been consistently pushing updates to its desktop browser in a bid to outrun market leaders such as Google's Chrome.

Ultimately, it allows users to have these services open constantly, negating the need for another tab, or getting in the way of other content. "In this release, in addition to the new messenger experience, it brings a fresh look, new icons, colours, wallpapers and a touch of animation", Opera said in its release.

Interested? Opera's Reborn is now available as a free download for Windows, MacOS, and Linux. With Reborn you can white list selected sites to save them from Opera's blocking feature.
