Nintendo unveils its new handheld - the 2DS XL

The New Nintendo 2DS XL launches alongside Hey! On July 28, New Nintendo 2DS XL makes its debut in North America at a suggested retail price of $149.99. The New 2DS XL arrives on July 28, and it costs $50 less than the 3DS equivalent. While the 3DS features two folding screens that play games in 3D, the 2DS is one hunk of plastic with two 2D screens.

The new version of the budget-friendly entry-level edition of the Nintendo 3DS will come with a number of hardware upgrades, as well as second analog nub also featured in the New Nintendo 3DS XL.

Nintendo announced the latest new hardware variation in the 3DS family: The New 2DS XL, Thursday.

The new system is set to launch on July 28th in the USA for $149.99, alongside two new games - Hey!

The Nintendo Switch will be launched alongside two new games for the Nintendo 3DS consoles - Hey!Pikmin and Miitopia. It's also got additional inputs with a "C Stick" on the front, and "ZL Button" and "ZR Button" on the back.

LG Electronics' Q1 net profit soars on-year
LG Electronics' sales also reached record first-quarter high of 14.7 trillion won, up 10 percent from a year ago. Operating profit during the period was KRW 921.5 billion (roughly Rs. 5,210 crores), up 82.4 percent.

There's a black & blue colour scheme in the U.S. trailer above, but the handheld's Japanese website also shows a hot white & gold number. "New Nintendo 2DS XL sports a handsome clamshell design and offers a great balance between price and performance", he further added during the announcement.

This announcement is quite surprising since it comes soon after the Nintendo Switch.

Its main screen is a 4.88ins 2D display, while a "slightly smaller" touchscreen is located just below it, the website says.

The Nintendo Switch did not launch with many games, but this is pretty common whenever new consoles are launched. Like its direct predecessor, the New 2DS XL does not include support for autostereoscopic 3D visuals (the name is a bit of a giveaway). It also has built-in NFC support function for Amiibo cards and figures.
