Israel Defense Forces Blow Up Pro-Assad Militia Group In Syria

An NDF official said two fighters were also wounded in the Israeli attack, but it was unclear whether the damage was inflicted by an air strike or shelling. According to al-Jazeera, Israeli security sources denied that there had been an attack on Syrian positions.

An Israeli attack against a pro-government military base in Syria has killed three militia.

Israel has engaged in several strikes against Syria, its northeastern neighbor, since the start of the Syrian civil war in 2011.

As with the USA strike against a Syrian air base, the Israeli attacks occurred notwithstanding Russia's backing of Assad and notwithstanding the air defenses it has provided him.

A mortar fell in the northern Golan Heights on Friday afternoon, the army said in a statement.

Unemployment rates fall to record lows in 4 US states
Jobs in manufacturing rose by 2,600, with hiring in nondurable goods (3,700) more than offsetting losses in durable goods (1,100). The United States' jobless rate declined two-tenths of a percentage point, from 4.7 percent in February to 4.5 percent in March.

Syria's official news agency SANA said Israel struck a Syrian army position in Quneitra province on the Golan plateau on Sunday, "causing damage". And from Jerusalem, the Israeli army declined to comment on the incident.

Syrian state media said Israeli war planes hit a "military position" and came after regime forces attacked "terrorists" in the area.

The Syrian government labels rebel groups and extremists fighting the regime as "terrorists" and accuses Israel of backing them.

The fire triggered sirens across the Golan Heights Regional Council.

Israel has launched a number of air strikes on Hizballah targets and in "retaliation" when rocket or mortar fire hits areas it controls.
