DJI incorporates with Hasselblad to launch an epicly powerful drone camera

DJI, a manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicle technology, has recently announced features and specifications for DJI Goggles, which is a first-person view system that opens up the sky to the drone pilot on the ground.

The DJI Goggles join several other mixed reality and virtual reality options for drone flying, including the $799 Epson Moverio BT-300 Drone Edition Smart Glasses, which are compatible with many DJI models. By combining DJI's M600 Pro drone and Ronin-MX Gimbal with a Hasselblad H6D-100c medium format camera, they've created what they're calling, "the world's first 100-Megapixel integrated aerial photography platform". At a price of $999, the DJI Mavic Pro is the company's latest drone and it carries a towering price even though it's one of the most capable drones available.

'We fully expect that they will be thrilled with the fun and immersive experience of flying with our goggles'.

For Mavic Pro owners, these Goggles do not simply relay the image shown on the tablet as the headset incorporates its own OcuSync receiver which bypasses the controller to minimise latency and lag. A separate head-tracking mode allows users to control their drone's gimbal.

DJI say they've focused on creating an ergonomic design, which is important when it comes to placing anything on your head for any decent period of time.

The Yi Halo shoots up to 8k x 8k at 30 FPS, or 6k x 6k at 60 FPS, and, thanks to the Jump assembler , outputs 3D 360 video. They'll be given access to a free Jump camera as well as the Jump Assembler to help kick off more virtual reality content.

Where to buy the DJI Goggles... Turning your head is like moving the control sticks.

With a battery life per recharge of around six hours, the Goggles pack plenty power. As an added bonus, via their HDMI input, the goggles can also be used for things like watching movies or playing video games.

The DJI Mavic Pro is built for beginners.

Also this week DJI partnered with Seagate to release a new Drone hard drive - a portable 2TB hard drive with a built-in MicroSD card slot so you can fly your drone, land it, take the MicroSD card and dump the footage immediately onto the drive. As an added bonus, up to two sets of goggles can be connected to the aircraft.
