Chobani yogurt company sues right-wing radio host Alex Jones

Chobani yogurt company sues right-wing radio host Alex Jones

It then goes on to accuse Jones of defaming the company in a video, posted last year, that accused Chobani of "importing" unsafe men from the Middle East, resulting in the rape of a five-year-old girl (the incident made news in Twin Falls, Idaho), by the yogurt company's employees. Also on April 11, the defendants published the video on Twitter with the headline "Idaho Yogurt Maker Caught Importing Migrant Rapists", the lawsuit says.

Right wing radio host and notorious conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has made a number of weird and outrageously bigoted claims - including the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting being a hoax, 9/11 being an inside job carried out by the United States, and of course, Chobani yogurt company "importing" immigrant rapists into the country. It's seeking $10,000 in damages.

These spurious claims circulated by Jones and InfoWars led to the exaggeration and falsification of the details by far right groups surrounding the assault of a five year old girl by three immigrants boys.

The false stories were created to cause people to boycott Chobani products, and affected the lives of individuals who worked at the plant and their families, the complaint says. Instead, the unnamed boys pleaded guilty in the assault.

Alex Jones has been trashing Chobani via Infowars for almost a year now because of the owner Hamdi Ulukaya's policies.

The 10-year feud between Alex Jones and Chobani yogurt has finally bubbled over into the courts.

Oil prices rebound after Kuwait supports oil deal extension
Crude dropped below $50 Friday on concerns that surging US production could undermine OPEC's efforts to reduce global supplies. Oil prices flipped lower late Friday morning and into a sharp fall amid fears crude markets are entering a new downtrend.

Among his many theories, Jones claimed that the United States was behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the government organized the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in CT, the lawsuit says. "Mr. Jones has now taken aim at Chobani and the Twin Falls community".

The stories netted Chobani a lot of flack from people who took the Infowars stories to heart.

Jones specializes in provocative conspiracy theories, calling himself the "founding father" of 9/11 conspiracies - he says the terrorist attacks were an inside-government job - and claiming the Sandy Hook shooting was "completely faked" and "manufactured".

Chobani's attorneys say Jones has not responded to requests to remove the inaccurate coverage.

In his cross-examination of Kelly Jones, attorney Randall Wilhite, representing Alex Jones, presented her as a woman who was distrustful of virtually all the other parties in the long life of the case - the therapists, counselors and even the judges - depicting them as all in league against her.

InfoWars did not immediately reply to The Idaho Statesman's request for comment.
