Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Ben Carson got stuck in an elevator today (April 12), while touring Courtside Apartments, a public housing complex in Miami. But Mourning was 15 minutes late, so Liu started the tour without him, playing a game of foosball with Carson in the building's rec room and showing him the facility's handsome basketball court.
Ironically, if that occurs, the budget cuts will severely impact HUD's maintenance funds (i.e. their ability to execute much needed fix work on public housing facilities, like the elevator Carson just got stuck in).
Once freed, Carson went about like nothing happened - and he tweeted a photo of himself with Mourning and did not mention the incident.
Carson was there to meet with former National Basketball Association star Alonzo Mourning, whose nonprofit helped develop the complex.

To be eligible, all of the nominees had to have released their first recording no later than 1991. Inductees will eventually be enshrined in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame museum in Cleveland.
Responders from the Miami-Dade fire department came to pry the doors open and Mourning apologized to Carson for the mishap.
It took a good 20 minutes before Carson was able to get out.
As he arrived at Collins Park, Carson was led into another elevator. They hope the secretary will defend against the Trump administration's proposed budget cuts to low income housing programs.
